We install and repair asphalt shingles for roofs in cities and towns around Wakefield & Peabody MA. These shingles are made out of durable materials, usually glass-fiber mat, which provides support and gives the shingles the strength it needs to withstand all weather conditions.
Types of Asphalt Shingles We Install
One of the benefits of installing asphalt shingles is that they serve as a waterproofing agent. The asphalt we use will remain flexible and will not dry out or become brittle for the expected life of the roofing shingle. There are three types of asphalt shingles we use, all of which are durable and reliable:
- Strip Shingles. These are the most basic roofing shingles available to homeowners. They are single layered and have a flat appearance that lays flush with the roof line and are often the lightest weight shingles available. Strip Shingles are used for economy priced homes or purchased by homeowners as replacement roofing shingles for homes that already have existing Strip Shingles.
- Dimensional Shingles. Also known as Architectural Laminated Shingles, this type of roofing shingle is the go-to product for Massachusetts homeowners. Designed as dual layered or multi-layered, these shingles provide a thicker, more durable appearance. Keep in mind that these shingles are much heavier than Strip Shingles, but they withstand New England weather much better and usually come with a warranty.
- Premium/Luxury Shingles. For a more customized, off-the-beaten-path look, Premium Shingles are the best choice for homeowners. They are often popular in the North Shore area to compliment Colonial or New England style architecture. Designs often mimic “old-world” shingles, such as natural slate, and tend to improve the value of your home as well as extend the lifetime of your roof.
